Toshiba has announced two new laptops featuring Intel’s Consumer Ultra Low Voltage (CULV) processors.

The Satellite T110 and T130 laptops combine elegant design with good performance, according to the firm, and offer a claimed battery life of up to 11 hours.

The T110 comes with a 11.6in screen, while its bigger brother the T130 has a 13.3in screen and is aimed at business users. Both offer an LED backlit 16:9 widescreen featuring a resolution of 1,366 x 768, and include Toshiba’s 3D sensor for hard drive protection, which more or less means that it can be dropped without losing any important data.

As is the norm, the laptops come in a range of elaborately named colours - Precious Black, Iron Red Metallic and Luxe White Pearl - and offer up to 4GB DDR3 (800MHz) of RAM and up to 500GB of hard drive space.

The Satellite T130 is offered with either Intel Pentium, Intel Single Core or Intel Celeron Single Core ultra low voltage processors, while the Satellite T110 has the option of an Intel Pentium or Intel Celeron Single Core ultra low voltage processor. The CULV option is designed to allow for longer use while performing tasks such as word processing or image editing.

Other handy inclusions are a webcam which, combined with Toshiba’s Face Recognition technology, offers futuristic access to protected files, an Eco-Utility tool that lets users monitor how much energy they are using, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and three USB ports.
