Tripp Lite Announces PowerAlert for Mac® OS X

Tripp Lite, a world-leading manufacturer of power protection equipment, has announced that its latest version of PowerAlert Network Shutdown Agent (PANSA) is now fully compatible with the Mac OS X operating systems.

PANSA enables networked computers not directly connected to a UPS System to shut down automatically when a power problem is detected. The software monitors an SNMP-capable device connected the UPS, and is configurable to respond to specific power events.

Key PANSA Capabilities:

  • Auto-discovery of Tripp Lite UPS Systems
  • Redundant configuration via monitoring of two UPS systems
  • Script execution
  • Unattended shutdown of networked computers/servers

“This new release of PowerAlert Network Shutdown Agent enables Mac users to take advantage of its many advanced capabilities,” said Mike Delgrosso, Tripp Lite’s Director of Software Development. “Its ability to monitor SNMP-capable networked devices that are in direct communication with a UPS system opens the door to a host of advanced power management capabilities not previously available to Mac users.”
