Toshiba notebooks won the third place in Russia

For last year Toshiba was possible to double the share in the Russian market of notebooks, having entered in a three of leaders on sales. However, Toshiba competitors consider that in the first quarter of 2007 the Japanese manufacturer can already face the certain problems.By estimations of analytical agencies (IDC, Gartner), Toshiba’s share in the Russian market of mobile computers was 11 % in 2006. Thus the company has taken the third place in the market after Acer and Asus. Toshiba has increased the share from 7 % in the I quarter 2006 up to 14 % in the IV quarter. We shall notice, that, according to Gartner in the end of 2005, share of Toshiba notebooks made 5,7 % of the market, that is the company took the seventh place on sales in Russia. In this connection the corporation has changed the strategy, having selected priority a rate on increasing sales of portable computers, also has passed to radical actions. As the regional general Toshiba Europe GmbH manager across the CIS countries and Baltics Igor Snytko marks, such results have been reached owing to development and introduction of the complex strategy including the attraction of new experts, concentrated attention to development of trade channels, both in Moscow, and in regions; active work with dealers and partners of a different level; expansion of a line of production corresponding interests of consumers.According to Igor Snytko, in 2007 the company expects to borrow a minimum of 15 % of the Russian notebook market. In notebook Portege R400 Microsoft Active Notifications technology allowing to receive automatically the notice and e-mail in a mode of real time on a network 3G is used, and also to update and synchronize the data of a calendar. Also in notebook there is the additional display located at a forward end face of a computer: on it notifications about arrival of mail, headings of messages and reminders, even are displayed in the event that notebook is closed or is in a sleeping mode. Besides Portege R400 is equipped by exclusive Toshiba technology - EasyGuard which uses the multiaspect approach to a notebook safety, protects a computer from not authorized access, copying of the data and hacker attacks. Notebook is made in unusual for the Japanese company black-and-white design. The device weighs about 1,72 kg. The portable computer is equipped by the display with a diagonal of 12,1 inches.
