ECA 2012 – VENDOR WINNERS

The ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2012 Awards’ took place on Thursday February 9th in Monaco in conjunction with DISTREE EMEA, the region’s premier annual consumer channel event. Now in their fourth year, the awards recognise channel excellence with hundreds of distributors and retailers from across EMEA voting live for their preferred vendors in 12 product categories. Across the 12 categories a total of 10 different vendors picked up awards with only Microsoft and Samsung winning in multiple categories.

Prior to the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2012 Awards’ Gala Dinner, thousands of channel executives across the region were polled to create a shortlist of five vendors in each category. Channel partners were asked to assess vendors on a number of criteria including partner engagement, channel strategy, pricing, stock management, product evolution, margin potential, channel management and partner programmes.

An overall winner in each category was selected through a live electronic vote by channel partners. During an exciting Gala Dinner in the glittering Salle des Etoiles venue in Monaco, the following vendors emerged victorious (the percentage of the final vote they received is given after their name):

1. Storage Vendor of the Year

WINNER: Western Digital (36%)

2. Software Vendor of the Year

WINNER: Microsoft (39%)

ALSO NOMINATED: Adobe, Kaspersky, Oracle, Symantec

3. Accessories Vendor of the Year

WINNER: Logitech (37%)

ALSO NOMINATED: Belkin, Genius, Port, Targus

4. Audio Vendor of the Year

WINNER: Bose (49%)

ALSO NOMINATED: Logitech, Philips, Samsung, Sony

5. Home Networking Vendor of the Year

WINNER: Intellinet (27%)

ALSO NOMINATED: D-Link, Linksys, TP-Link, Zyxel

6. Components Vendor of the Year

WINNER: Intel (32%)

ALSO NOMINATED: AMD, Asus, Seagate, Western Digital

7. Gaming Vendor of the Year

WINNER: Microsoft (31%)

ALSO NOMINATED: Logitech, Nintendo, Razer, Sony

8. Imaging Vendor of the Year

WINNER: Canon (47%)

ALSO NOMINATED: Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Sony

9. Printing Vendor of the Year

WINNER: HP (56%)

ALSO NOMINATED: Canon, Epson, Samsung, Xerox

10. Monitors/TVS Vendor of the Year

WINNER: Samsung (59%)

ALSO NOMINATED: BenQ, LG, Philips, Sony

11. Mobile Device Vendor of the Year

WINNER: Samsung (32%)

ALSO NOMINATED: Blackberry, HTC, Nokia, Sony Mobile

12. Notebook/Netbook/Desktop PC Vendor of the Year

WINNER: Lenovo (32%)

ALSO NOMINATED: Acer, Asus, Dell, HP
