Toshiba Mobile WiMAX Laptops Tested in Russia

Toshiba is preparing a lineup of laptops with Mobile WiMAX providing for Internet access at 10Mbs and supporting connection to it at the speed of 120kmh.

The first Toshiba Portégé M800 with Mobile WiMAX made for the Russian market have been tested in Yota testlab in Moscow and proved a stable work with 4G network.

Toshiba was one of the first companies to suppor the launch of the first WiMAX network in Baltimore in the USA. In October 2008, the company unveiled the first laptop model with WiMAX in the American market - Toshiba Satellite U405.

"We believe in the future of mobile Internet and have decided to support Scartel moves to spread Mobile WiMAX technology in Russia, offering our products with 4G in the market. Personally I have a positive experience of using Yota WiMAX network in Moscow and St. Petersburg. It was a pleasure to ride across the cities and have a constant access to Internet. Im quite sure that our customers would highly appreciate a combination of functionality of our laptops and WiMAX networks", said Igor Snytko, Toshiba Europe general manager in the CIS and Baltics.

Toshiba Portégé M800 with 13.3" display and strong technical base has already been recognized as an excellent business tool. With Mobile WiMAX a customer will get the highest mobility level making the full use of wireless high-speed access to Internet.
