Russia sees strong Shipments performance for Printer Devices in 2012 despite overall decline across EMEA

26th February 2013 (London, UK): Results from CONTEXT’s Shipments Report for EMEA show that total unit shipments of all printing devices fell by -13% year-on-year in 2012. Although most categories within this segment saw some decline over the period, the overall result was principally due to a decrease in shipments of All-in-One Inkjet Printers, since these account for over half of the Printer market.

Russia had a strong year, however, registering a larger volume of shipments’ traffic than the majority of its European counterparts, most of which continue to suffer from market uncertainty in the face of on-going austerity measures. This resulted in Russia overtaking both France and the UK to take second place behind Germany, which in 2012 continued to ship the greatest number of Printer units in EMEA.
